Earnest Darrell Black, born Sept. 11, 1924, in Blanding, Utah, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at his home in Spanish Fort after a long illness.

Survivors include his wife, Vida Ann Black of Spanish Fort; two daughters, Joan Carter of Ozark and Bunny Cooper of Mobile; son, Rick Black of Fayetteville, N.C.; sister, Rowene Carter of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Byron Black of Provo, Utah; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Covenant Hospice for all the assistance and support.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. with funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Daphne.
