Sam M. Lower, 63, retired Allen County farmer, died last evening in the Neosho Memorial Hospital, Chanute.
Mr. Lower was born and raised In the Salem neighborhood and farmed there until he retired, due to ill health, about two years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home; four sons; Sam Jr. of Humboldt, Gary of Iola, John and Donald Lower of the home; two brothers, Ray of Canon City, Colo., and Horace Lower, Bartlesville; four sisters, Beulah Walker, Albuquerque; Mrs. Floyd Hunter, Neodesha; Mrs. Dean Armstrong, Kansas City, and Mrs. Joe Shaw, Kansas City, Kan., and four grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Willis Adell at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Waugh Funeral Home. Burial will be at the La Harpe Cemetery.
