Luise Fredriecka Dautel was born in Beinstein, Germany, January 21, 1864 and died June 8, 1951 at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 18 days. She was the last of eleven children. At the age of 18, she with her two sisters and one brother came to America, locating in Philadelphia, Pa. She was married to Ernst Bensch in 1882. To this union four children were born. They are: Clara Loeser, Byron, Oklahoma; Ernest Bensch, Harry, Bensch, and Emma Louthan, all residents of the Chester community. She and her husband and one child moved to Kansas, locating near Ashland in 1885. She could relate many thrilling incidents that happened during those pioneer days.

She knew what hard work was and was always willing to do her share and more. She loved her family and was especially proud of her 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. One grandchild and five great grandchildren preceded her in death.

Not knowing how to speak English made it very difficult to talk to people. Through the kindness of one of her neighbors she was taught how to speak, read, and write English.

One year after the opening of the Cherokee Strip, she with her husband and three children moved to Oklahoma, locating one mile north and one fourth mile west of the old Barnes store. They lived there 12 years. It was during this time their youngest daughter was born. From that farm, they moved to a farm located one mile west and three fourths mile south of the old Barnes store, where she lived until the death of her husband May 14, 1926, after which she went to live at her daughter Emma's home. She has been an invalid for 3-1/2 years, suffering from the effects of arthritis and through it all she was very patient. The last two years she has been staying at Harry's home two months, then at Emma's home two months. It was at Emma's home she passed away.

She was converted and joined the Friends Church in 1938. She was a faithful follower of Christ until her death. Her last words were, "How happy I'll be with Jesus."

Though she couldn't go visiting she loved to have company and always greeted them with a smile. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and also be her friends which were great in number.

Those left to mourn her passing are: Mr. And Mrs. Fred Loeser and families; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bensch and families, Mr. And Mrs. Harry Bensch and families, Mr. And Mrs. Roy Louthan and families; one sister-in-law Mrs. Jacob Dautel, Philadelphia, Pa; 19 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
