Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Brenda Beaver, associate pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Family visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Burke on July 25, 1919. She was raised in Diboll and lived most of her adult life in Fort Worth and Arlington. She had been a resident of Arlington since 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was noted for her keen sewing skills and treated lots of families and friends to her homemade gingerbread. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan and loved roses and gardening. But most of all, she loved her family.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Carrye E. "Perk" Perkins; a son, James Arnold; and a sister, Bobbie Mata.
Survivors: Daughters, Bernice Trammell and husband, David, of Granbury, Patsy Quimby and husband, Steve, of Sugar Land and Claudia Perkins of Arlington; sons, Carrye L. "Mickey" Perkins of Arlington and Carl Perkins of Arlington; grandchildren, Ritchie Arnold of Arlington, Mandy Vasquez of Cleburne, Michele Cheavens of Dallas, James Arnold of Houston, Jan Arnold of Center, Walter "Trace" Stierhoff III of Arlington, Jalah Trammell of Keller and Carrye D. Perkins of Chicago; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Laura Fussell of Cedar Hill, Shirley Burns of Diboll and Juanita Welch of Diboll; and brothers, Clifford Anthony of Webb, George Anthony of Hurst and Joe Anthony of Diboll.
