Son of Tom Hamer and Pam Hamer Shoot, Stephen lived his life in Anderson, Indiana. He attended Liberty Christian School and graduated from Highland High School in 2001. Full of fun and laughter, he loved God, people, and golf. He succumbed, much too young, to cancer. The Stephen Hamer Benefit Concert for Make-a-Wish Foundation is held each year in Anderson. A memorial tree was planted in Stephen's memory on the Anderson University campus in front of Decker Hall, where Stephen would have been a freshman in the fall of 2001.
