She was born on September 26, 1920 in Point Pleasant, WV to Virgil Ray and Lucy Ann (McDermitt) Mourning. She worked as a secretary for Cameron Iron Works. She was a member of the Methodist church, loved her cats and her plants and enjoyed being with "her kids."
She died in her home in Paige on Saturday, August 23, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Brooks of San Antonio, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
