James Andrew Zimmerer, 61, of Crimora, died Monday, August 25, 2008, at his brother's home in Petersburg, West Virginia.

He was born in Staunton, on May 10, 1947, a son of the late John Andrew Zimmerer and Maggie Jewel Allen Zimmerer.

James was a retired insurance adjuster for Zimmerer and Associates and a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated in 1965 from Palm Beach High School and 1969 graduate of the University of Florida. He was a member of VFW Post # 00452 and a member of MADD.

James was preceded in death by a son, John A. Zimmerer on June 2, 1999.

James is survived by two sons, James A. Zimmerer II of Kanehoe Marine Corp. Base, Kanehoe Bay, Hawaii, and Matthew Lee Zimmerer of Crimora; two sisters, Betty White Sulzbach of Concord, Virginia and Marion Johnson of Mesa, Arizona; one brother, John L. Zimmerer of Peters-burg; and one grandson, Dylan Zimmerer.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008, at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, West Virginia and from 12 until 2 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2008, at the Fellowship Pentecostal Church in Greenfield, (Nelson County), Virginia, where the services will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Edmond Southers and Pastor Randy Mongold officiating. Interment will at the church cemetery with military honors.
