Third child of Earl and Waitie Blair Dean, born and raised at Cleveland, Blount Co., AL. Graduated from Cleveland High School. He married Ruby K. Stephens, 14 Aug. 1940. They are the parents of f Peggy Ann Dean Finch and Michael Jerome Dean. Grandfather to Michelle Denise Finch Farish, FAG Memorial #117409196; Rhonda D'Ann Finch Meadows, Christopher David Finch, Lauren Denise Dean and Stephen Michael Dean.
He worked with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Cedartown, Georgia, and accidently one of his thumbs was severed at the first joint. He returned to Alabama, trained to be a heavy equipment operator. Upon moving back to Blount County, he worked for 38 years and retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Alabama State Highway Department (ALDOT).
