John Kenyon, son of John C Kenyon and Freelove Reynolds, was born July 3, 1760 in Exeter, Washington, Rhode Island. He served in the Revolutionary War while living with his father in Exeter, Rhode Island. A part of his service was in the company of his relative, Phineas Kenyon (4 generation from James, the patriarch), who commanded the 3rd Company of Exeter. He was living in Oswego County, New York when he was placed on the pension roll (claim S. 23286) for his service in the Revolutionary War. He married Hannah B. Crandall on December 2, 1784 in Rhode Island. They had twelve children: Crandall, Ruth, John, Mercy, Abigail, David C., Hannah, Daniel, Olive, Simeon P., Gardner (who was the husband of Sarah Mary May) and Daniel.
