Rose Kirkham Kimball, age 93 passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Carlos Clark Kimball in 1971. Rose is survived by her five children: Joan Kimball Lowry (Wayne A.) of Phoenix, AZ; Don Carlos Kimball (Charlene) of Sandy, Utah; Martha Ann Kimball of Flagstaff, AZ; Stephen R. Kimball (Connie Clonts) of Gilbert, AZ; and Richard Kirkham Kimball (Venice) of Spanish Fork, UT; her sister, Geraldine Monson (Keyne) of Hayward, CA; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.


Rose was born at the family home in Salt Lake City on October 28, 1914, the fifth child of Dr. Francis W. and Martha Alzina Robison Kirkham. She attended East High in Salt Lake City and New York City public schools. She attended NYU and BYU earning a degree in Physical Education and English. She also attended UC Berkeley, U of U, Weber College, and received a Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling from NAU. Rose taught early elementary through university level classes during her career as an educator, and served as Guidance Counselor in the Flagstaff Public Schools until retirement at age 70. Rose was active in the LDS church serving in multiple church callings including Regional Dance Director and president of Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society organizations. She enjoyed playing violin and piano.


Funeral Services will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 28th 6 from to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 29 at 10 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1500 East).
