They'd left their house in Fredonia (between Gilbert and Leesville) that morning to do their weekly shopping. They were on their way home when the accident happened.
Her sister Annie Magnolia, who was sitting in the back of the wagon with her mother, was shaken up pretty badly but was checked out and released from the hospital. Geneva, her dad, and her other sister Jessie were in the front of the wagon and escaped injury. Annie said she heard the train coming and tried to warn her dad but doesn't know if he heard.
