Kathy Kay Richardson, 49, passed away Tuesday morning, August 5th at Hillcrest Memorial Hospital in Simpsonville, SC. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

She was born in Fort Dodge on September 22, 1958 to Carl and Marilyn (Michael). She attended school in Fort Dodge.

Kathy was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Kathy was also a part of the Smithway Motor Xpress Family for 12 years before moving to Jacksonville, Florida and later Simpsonville, SC.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Christopher and Kyle, her grandsons; Logan Fritz and Jordan Myers; her parents, Carl and Marilyn (Michael) Richardson; brother, Steven (Sandy) Richardson; her niece, Ashley (Mike Lundberg) Richardson; her nephew, Scott Richardson; and great-nephew, Mason Lundberg all of Fort Dodge. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kathy was a very loving and giving person and a friend to everyone. She will be greatly missed.
