Robert "Bob" L. Wilson Jr., 59, of Elyria, Ohio, died Saturday (Aug. 9, 2008) at EMH Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.He was born Feb. 20, 1949, in Marion County and lived in Elyria for most of his life.Bob was employed as a material handler at the Invacare Corp. in Elyria for 21 years.He was a United States Marine Corp veteran and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Patricia "Patty" (nee Carlson); daughters, Cassy (Ben) Hastings of Berln Heights, Carla (Matt) Ponting and Carrie Wilson both of Elyria; stepmother, Peggy Wilson; mother, Betty Jackson; three grandchildren; sisters, Robin Hamrick, Donna Garcia and Cheri Bennett, all of West Virginia and Frances Lucal of Vermilion, Ohio; father-in-law, Gordon Carlson of Elyria; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Wilson Sr. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road, at State Rte. 57, Elyria, Ohio. 440-322-4626.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The Rev. Judith Ponting will officiate. Burial will be at Brooksdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
