BRIGHAM CITY - Guy Vernon Henry, 92, died peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2003, with family present at Pioneer Care Center. He was born October 13, 1910, in Dibol, Texas, to John William and Oda Mae Faulkenbury Henry. He moved to Wells, Nevada in 1940 where he met and married Madge Toombs.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Madge died October 25, 2001. They lived in Ogden where Guy worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. They moved to Corinne in 1964 when they sold their property for the construction of I-15. While working for the railroad, he also owned and ran a farm. He raised sheep, and was one of the organizers for a lamb pool and a wool pool in Box Elder County. He also raised a few cattle, horses and chickens throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Madge, one grandson, Steven, one sister, Lena, and four brothers, Elton, Garnel, Clayton, and Douglas. Surviving are his children; Barbara H. (Louis) Sorensen, Kingman, AZ, Faye H. Petersen, Robert G. (Loreen) Henry, both of Brigham City, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Zelma Jean Nygren of Wichita, KS.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, July 31, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
