Father of legendary comic actor Stan Laurel. He was born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England, UK and was an actor and theatre manager. He was married twice. His first marriage with actress Margaret Metcalfe
ended with her early death in 1908 due to illness. They had five children: Gordon Jefferson,
Arthur Stanley Jefferson,
Beatrice Jefferson,
Sydney Jefferson, and Edward Jefferson.

His second wife was Venitia Jefferson, called Ven.
