Travis O. (Burnie) Burneston, 70, of Gulfport, Miss., died Friday, in Biloxi, Miss. Mr. Burneston was a native Troup, Texas and was a resident of the U.S. Naval Home in Gulfport. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War Il, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a life member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, a member of National Association of Federal Retired Employees in Pensacola, a member VFW Post 706, American Legion Post 340, Royal Order of the Moose 557 all of Pensacola. He was a member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association of Washington, D.C. and the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 22. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Robert Butler Lodge 305 in Tallahassee, Fla., the Scottish Rite Bodies, and was a Shriner and a member of the Hadji Temple 3973. Survivors include: a daughter, Judith Burneston of Richmond. Va.; three sisters, Erma Long of Bonner Springs, Kan., Alice Rutledge of Grose Beck, Texas, Francls Conley of Palestine, Texas.
