The funeral for Rebecca Wales Hodges, 94, of Elkmont will be at 2 p.m. today at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in Ardmore, Ala. with Carl Witty and Bobby Ogles officiating. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery in Elkmont. Visitation was Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Hodges died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.Rebecca was born July 23, 1914 in Limestone County to Floyd Wales and Lizzie Biggerstaff Wales. She lived all her life in this area. She was a lifelong member of Pettusville Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifton Hodges; a brother, Elvie Wales; and a sister, Geneva Hogan. Survivors include a son, James E. "Sonny" Hodges and wife Barbara Jean of Elkmont; two sisters, Sue Thorne of Pulaski, Tenn. and Evelyn Maddox of Elkmont; five grandchildren, Byron Hodges, Kathy Shores, Angie Thompson, Teresa Chittam and Christy Lassie; and 11 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Dennis Maddox, Walter Adams, Ronnie Holt, Johnny Dutton, Darrell Holt and Ricky Watkins.
