Laura Nancy Houston, age 93, of Spring City passed away peacefully at her home and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 16, 2008. She was a loving, caring mother and was of the Baptist faith.Born in Spring City, Laura was preceded in death by her parents Boog & Bertha Boles Cunningham; her beloved husband of 49 years, V.B. Houston; three sisters, Frances True, Eula Agee and Reva Houston; and three brothers, Morgan, Loyd and Frank Cunningham and one Daughter-in-Law Iris Rogers Houston (Leon).Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Frances Harrison of Spring City; sons, Douglas (Mildred) Houston, Jerry (Doris) Houston, Leon (Earlene) Houston all of Spring City, Edward (Sandra) Houston of Kingston, Tenn.; brothers, Fred and George Cunningham both of Spring City, and Joe Lee Cunningham of Rockwood, Tenn.; sisters Mabel Burns and Lois McCuistion both of Spring City, Gladys Ledford of Rockwood, Tenn., and Betty Cole of Greer S.C.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jake Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.Vaughn Funeral Home of Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
