Lena DeBoe Blair, age 85, of 6837 West Gretna Road, Pittsville died Monday, August 11, 2008 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 28, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Moses Lynwood DeBoe and Dora Bennett DeBoe. She was predeceased by her husband, Garry Wyatt Blair, Sr., a son, Barry S. Blair; a grandson, John Monroe Blair; a brother, Edgar DeBoe and a sister, Mary DeBoe Smith. She attended Shelhorse Elementary School and Climax School. Mrs. Blair was the owner operator of Blairs Self-Service Grocery which was established August 11, 1956 and was a notary for many years. She was a member of Greenbay Christian Church, the Climax Ruritan Club and was a charter member of the Gretna Junction Lions Club. Mrs. Blair enjoyed gardening, quilting and Thanksgiving and her birthday celebrations with her family.
