Alice Chappell Poole, "Granny", 98, widow of Arthur R. Poole Sr. died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007.
Survivors include one son, A.R. "Billy" Poole Jr. and wife, Betty; one daughter, Alice Faye Chappell and husband, Gene; five grandchildren, Beverly Morris and husband, Eddie, Lisa Gettier and husband, Stacy, Carolyn Poole Messier, Jamie Chappell, Paula Seward and husband, David; five great-grandchildren and her beloved pet dog, P.D.
Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by one daughter, Frances Poole Purdy and a grandson, Robert Poole.
A funeral service, led by The Rev. Kwang Ho Lee was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Concord United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jamie Chappell, Kenneth Chappell Jr., Eddie Morris, Dustin Morris, Wayne Grizzard, Stacy Gettier and Kenneth Chappell Sr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Poole's memory to Concord United Methodist Church.
