DREW --- Carl H. Jefcoat, 51, died on Mar. 13, 1987, at a hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Services are at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Thweat-King Funeral Home in Cleveland with burial in New Cleveland Cemetery. Mr. Jefcoat was a native of Cleveland and a graduate of Drew High School. He studied two years at Mississippi Delta Junior College in Moorhead. He was a pilot in the U. S. Air Force and did three tours in Vietnam. He was shot down during his third tour and was a prisoner of war for one year. He received numerous honors. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service as a lieutenant colonel. He was an aviation experiment test pilot for the RCA Drone Program.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marter Jefcoat of Drew, and a sister, Mrs. Jean J. Hood of Bowling Green, Kentucky. ~~~ CLARION LEDGER, Jackson, MS, Mar. 16, 1987, page 10
