David "Ray" married Harriett Beecher Stowe McHarg on July 13th, 1918. Ray left to join the service on July 25th. After his return from France the following May, the couple took up farming on the farm which Harriett's parents had homesteaded in 1878. They spent all their married life on this acreage.

Ray & Harriett were the parents one daughter, Irene (Henry) Kobs.
