Snoopy was my very first dog, meaning he was my very own dog. I was 5 years old when we brought him home in Riccione, Italy.

I named him Snoopy because at the age of 5, Snoopy from Peanuts was the coolest dog. We got him from friends of the family who had a litter of puppies. Snoopy was black. long, soft fur and a lot of puppy energy.

My mom returned the puppy to the family who gave him to us. I was never told the truth until a few years ago. She gave him back because like all puppies, he made messes and my mother's boy friend I guess complained about the puppy. When they returned Snoopy, I was told the puppy was given to someone who really needed him in another city. A lady in a wheel chair had him now and needed him so much. For years I looked for that puppy with a lady in a wheel chair. Not knowing the truth made it worse.

I will always remember Snoopy and the antics that sealed his fate. Hope to see him at the rainbow bridge one day.
I have a photo of me as a little girl holding the small wiggly puppy. My love for dogs was apparent even then and even though many dogs came after, Snoopy I will always remember him. God bless you Snoopy.
