The Hand of Death.

At his home on the Bonneauville road, in Straban township, Nicholas V. Redding died of lock-jaw last Friday morning. Previous to the attack he had been suffering from a small warty cancerous growth on the back of his neck, from which lock-jaw set in on Wednesday evening. His age was 63 years, 2 months and 3 days.

Mr. Redding, oldest son of Philip Redding, Esq., deceased, is survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret Redding, of Cumberland township, and by a widow and ten children. They are Adam V., Joseph C., William F. and Benjamin J., of Cumberland township; John P., Charles H. and Mrs. Mary Senecal, of Hagerstown, Md.; Edward and Miss Lizzie of Straban township, and Mrs. Carrie Smith, of this place.

The funeral took place yesterday morning at 10 o'clock with services in St. Francis Xavier church, Rev. Father Christ officiating. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.
