Claudia Mae Oliver, 77, of Bethlehem Township, Pa., passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 at her home surrounded by family.

Born: April 13, 1931 in Texarkana, Arkansas, she was the youngest daughter of the late Hezekiah and Annie M. Atkins Brown.

Personal: She was a devoted wife to her husband, Otis, and mother to their four daughters. Otis and Claudia spent 52 years together before his death on March 31, 1999. She was a graduate of David Starr Jordan Sr. High School, Los Angeles, Calif. Claudia, nicknamed Mae-Mae by her grandchildren, was an accomplished seamstress and artist. She had a green thumb and loved to walk in her garden, enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and watching classic movies. A true hands-on mother, Claudia would do anything for her family. Her selflessness and considerate nature will be missed. Membership: She was a member of Mojave, Calif., Community Congregational United Church of Christ before moving to Pennsylvania.

Survivors: Four daughters, Shirley Oliver of Easton, Linda Oliver of Riverside, Calif., Sandra Oliver Petty and her husband, Herbert of Bethlehem Township, with whom she resided, and April Oliver of Emmaus; seven grandchildren, Thalia Thurmond of Easton, Eric McDaniel of Tacoma, Washington, Erica McDaniel of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Chennel McDaniel of Woodlands Hills, Calif., Precious and Mia Petty, both of Bethlehem Township and Dymea Schippers of Emmaus and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services: Will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28th in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough, with the Rev. Robert C. Santucci officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Farmersville Cemetery.
