Whitney Ann Jessie Cox, 22, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Columbus, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was an attendant at the Laundry Room and enjoyed art.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Larry Fields officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family through the funeral home.

Born in Columbus Aug. 21, 1984, Whitney was the daughter of Larry T. Jessie and Deborah A. Jewell Newsom.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Larry and Debbie Jessie of Columbus; her mother and stepfather, Debbie and Alan Newsom of Columbus; children, Martin Alexander Cox and Isabel R. Jessie, both of Columbus; a brother, Matthew T. Jessie of Columbus; grandmothers, Nettie Jessie and Betty Jewell, both of Columbus; great-grandmothers, Margaret Arney of Columbus and Ann Masek of Illinois; stepbrothers, Eric and Patrick Froedge, both of Columbus; an aunt, Becky (Chester) Roe Harper of Glasgow, Ky.; and uncles, James H. Jewell and Terry, Eugene and Tim Jessie, all of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by grandfathers, William T. Jessie and James E. Jewell.
