Clyde Wayne Argabright, 76, St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at a local health care center.
He was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Nemaha County, Neb., to Eugene Ross and Maude Twila.
Clyde graduated in 1950 from White Cloud, Kan., High School.
On June 25, 1982, he married Erma Helm of St. Joseph. She survives of the home.
Clyde retired from Empire Gas where he had worked for 15 years. After retirement he worked for Cameron School District in Cameron, Mo., for seven years, and at CAP (E.O.C.) in St. Joseph for four years.
Clyde was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in St. Joseph. Clyde enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maude; brother, Ernest Argabright; sister, Irene Trenerry; stepson, Leon Helm; step-granddaughters, Amanda Timmons and Stephanie Helm.
Additional survivors include his brothers, Eugene Argabright and wife Delores, Gladstone, Mo.; and Lloyd Argabright and wife Nancy, Del Rio, Texas; three sisters, Laura Duncan, Lincoln, Neb.; Ruby Burr and Dorothy Kammerer, both of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Megan McAndrews, and Shelly Scott; stepdaughter, Derrine Frazee; and stepson, Gary Helm, all of St. Joseph; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Monday at the Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Eastside Baptist Church.
