Lawrence L. Ralston, 59, a resident of Orefield, Pa., formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown.
Mr. Ralston was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Warren Ralston and the late Ann Raeder Ralston. His mother died recently in June, 2008. He was a graduate of the Class of 1967, James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Drexel University, Philadelphia. He had been employed in the apparel industry most of his life and had been worked for the former Leslie Faye Corp., Plains and several other firms. Currently, he was vice president of planning and development for Calvin Klein, New York City.
Larry was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Wescoesville and was a former member of Calvary (now, Holy Cross) Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he had been an acolyte for some time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several uncles and aunts.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Dianne Rogers Ralston, at home; children, Stephen L. Ralston and his wife, Tina, Richmond Hill, Ga.; Melissa O'Donnell and her husband, John, Fairfield, Conn.; Cherie Pudleiner and her husband, James, Kennett Square; and Kenneth J. Ralston, Manhattan, N.Y.; grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Ralston and Grace Pudleiner; sister, Virginia Scott and her husband, Claude, Wilkes-Barre; an aunt, Mrs. Jean Kessler, Parsons Section, Wilkes-Barre; several cousins including Mary Kessler, Parsons Section, Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 451 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with interment in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville.
Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to~ American Cancer Society.
