A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army from March 19, 1945, to Jan. 1, 1947. He received a World War II Victory Medal, an Army of Occupation Medal, an Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
He married Virginia Sue Hendrick on June 30, 1951, in Heuvelton with the Rev. Allan G. Bowering officiating.
Mr. Aldrich was a member of the Heuvelton Lions Club and received its Melvin Jones Lion of the Year Award in 1989. He was an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Mr. Aldrich was a milk truck driver for a time before becoming employed delivering coal and feed for Wainwright's Feed Mill, Rensselaer Falls. From the mid- 1960s until his retirement in the late 1980s, he was a therapy aide at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg.
