David was born Aug. 8, 1961 in Champaign, the son of Earl and Mary Lee Messman Donley. He married Nancy Skelly in May of 1992 in Kankakee.
He is survived by a daughter, Carly Donley and a son, Dylan Donley, both of Bourbonnais; his parents, Earl and Mary Lee Donley of Cissna Park; a brother, Mark (Elizabeth) Donley of Hoopeston; a nephew, Michael Donley of Hoopeston and paternal grandmother, Louise Donley of Oakwood.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
David at the age of 14 started playing the drums and became an accomplished musician. David had a deep passion for music. He was a graduate of Buckley-Loda High School "Class of 1979" and was a member of St. Johns Ash Grove Lutheran Church.
He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed flat track racing. David toured the U.S. with the Vetter Corporation displaying the Terraplane motorcycle side car and different products made by the company.
