She lost her mother when she was three years old. She raised her four children primarily by herself. She was a very religous woman, loved to dance, and had a good sense of humor. She had auburn hair and dark brown eyes.

Helen V. Vickers, 87, of Sedalia, died Frday, Feb 6, 1998 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born Oct. 20, 1910, in Tipton,(she was born on a farm near Fortuna) the daughter of Urban Louis and Louisa E. Worley Wolf. On Jan. 25, 1932, in Tipton, she was married to Clifton Vickers, who died in 1960 (1966).
Mrs. Vickers worked as a housekeeper for St. Patrick's Church Rectory for 16 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Right for Life and The St. Patrick Ladies Altar Society.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Hanson of Independence; one son, Ralph Vickers of Lawrence, Ks., two brothers, Sylvester Wolf of California, Mo., and Louis Wolf of Conyers, Ga.; one sister, Nora Embry of Tipton; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Floyd Vickers in 1954 and Donald Vickers in 1995; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church with the Father Tom Alberts and Charles Pfeiffer officiating. Pall bearers will be Michael Vickers, Timothy Vickers, Patrick Vickers (he didn't come to funeral, Leo "Fritz" Embry took his place), David Bottcher, Dan Wolf, and Phillip Vickers.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Calvary Section. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Ewing Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
