Lester Knust Sr., 90, of Indianola died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at the Westview Care Center in Indianola. Services were Aug. 19 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Mount Zion Cemetery near Lacona.
Knust was born Jan. 14, 1918, near Lacona, the son of Gustav and Clara Knust. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star. He married Audrey Lucille Klages June 2, 1946 and was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey; two children, Kristi Rath and Les Jr.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
