Byron Tiller McDaniel, 79, of 1009 Iowa Avenue Lynn Haven, passed away Friday, March, 21, 2008 at his residence. Byron was born May 17, 1928 in Jackson County, Florida, a son of the late Arthur and Zora Baxley McDaniel. Byron served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, earning the Purple Heart for his dedicated service. Byron retired from the Coastal Systems Station where he worked as an electrician, planner and estimator. He was a faithful servant of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven for 47 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard work and spending time with his family. His daughters always remember him calling them, "His sunshine girls." Byron was a very spiritual man who was always there for his family however they needed him. "Papa" was a prayer warrior whose family knew they came second only to God in his life. He often spent late night hours on his knees for them. He is survived by three daughters; Brenda Kirkland and husband Craig of Sugar Land, Texas, Teresa Willis and husband Lendy of Lynn Haven, Florida and Melanie Warren and husband James also, of Lynn Haven, Florida. 8 grandchildren; Nicole Castillo and her husband Michael of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kimberly Kirkland of Sugar Land, TX, Brim Willis and his wife Julia of Newport News, VA, Byron Willis and his wife Fallon of Gainesville, Fla., Amanda Willis of Orlando, Fla., David Warren and his wife Donya of Lynn Haven, Fla., Audrey Warren of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Adam Warren of Lynn Haven, Fla., 3 great grandchildren; Zachary Castillo, Ruby Castillo, Ayden Willis, 2 sisters; Delena Creamer of Chipley, Fla., and Louise Creamer of Atlanta, GA. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Ruby McDaniel. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 6-8pm at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven with the Rev. Tom Daniel Jr.and Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be David Warren, Byron Willis, Brim Willis, Lendy Willis, James Warren, Craig Kirkland and Adam Warren.
