Martin Harvey passed away on Friday, December 3, after a courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Martin was born December 27, 1956, the son of Georgetta Thomas Harvey of Pittsburgh and the late John Harvey.
Martin is survived by his wife and best friend, Lesli of Londonderry Twp.; a daughter, Kaylynn Nicole; two sons, Ethan John and Zackary Martin, and a step-daughter, Pamela Kay Winemiller, all at home. He was the best father in the world and will be sadly missed. He is also survived by three brothers, Jeff, David and Scott.
Martin was a graduate of Avonworth High School in Pittsburgh, received his bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University and his master's degree from Penn State. Mr. Harvey was privileged to work as a sixth grade teacher in the Lower Dauphin School District for the past 18 years. He also taught summer school for Dauphin County Vo Tech for a number of years. Mr. Harvey had his own landscaping and lawn care business.
Mr. Harvey was an Air Force Veteran of 8 years, where he served in Montana and was committed to the education of what the country owes to our Veterans.
Finally, Mr. Harvey was a devoted, dedicated, hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening, from the Frank S. Miller Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 7 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
