Roscoe Lyle Parker, 87, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Beckmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Weaver officiating.

Interment followed in the Harper City Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 12, at the funeral chapel.

A rancher his entire life, Parker was born at Noxville on Jan. 17, 1921, the son of Samuel Houston Parker and Winnie Pearl Sageser Parker. His wife, Evelyn, preceded him in death.

He is survived by a sister, Juanita Ryan of San Antonio.

In addition to his wife and parents, Parker was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers, including Lula Roberts, Myrtle McDougall, DeVor Jackson, Gladiolus Oestreich, Orrin Parker, Eber Parker, Clayton Parker and Dubois Parker.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Scott Rogers, Rick Rogers, Eugene Parker, Jim Bob Stevens, Jett Parker and Buddy Bradshaw.

Honorary pallbearers were Walter Wynn Parker, Will Morrison, Jim Parker, Elmon Fuchs, Mark Migl and Chris Migl.
