Double funeral services for Bill Eugene Oakes, 29, and his wife, Myrtle Annie Oakes, 22, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friends Church. Rev. Francis Ross will officiate with interment in Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Chapel. The couple was found dead at the home Monday. He was born on September 17, 1935 in Alva to Clarence and Pauline Edna (Broomhall) Oakes. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Alva Concrete Company. Survivors include his parents of Alva; his son, Terry Lynn Oakes of the home; his daughter, Debbie Ann Oakes of Anaheim, California; his brothers, Winfred Dean "Bud" Oakes and Max Oakes, both of Alva, and Donald Leon Oakes of Flora, Illinois; and his sister, Marjorie Cook of Escondido, California.
