Violet Foster Wood Bagwell, 83, of 606 Ranch Road, widow of Fred Bagwell, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Laurens County Hospital.

Born in Union, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Hester Lockhart Foster. She retired from J.P. Stephens Watts Plant after 42 years of service and was currently employed with the Laurens County Hospital in the Dietary Department. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the Ruth Casey Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Nancy Wood of Laurens; two grandchildren, Brian Wood and wife, Elaine, and Jessica Wood; and a great-grandchild, Madilyn Wood. She was predeceased by three brothers, J.C. Foster, Ottis Foster, and Wilson Foster; and three sisters, Lillian Belue, Ruby Pitts, and Frances Davis. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 23, 2005, at St. James United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Charlie Short, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her son, 76 Wayne's Trail, and will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today before the service in the church.
