Mrs. Gardner was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Pueblo, Colo., to James and Ruth Doiel. She was a 40-year resident of Minden, moving here in 1964 with her husband, Thomas Gardner. She enjoyed reading and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.
She is survived by her son, James Alexander of Gardnerville, daughter Constance Alexander of Minden, one sister, Virginia McElrath of Weiser, Idaho and a brother, James Doiel from Downey, Calif. as well as two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are in the care of Capitol City Cremation in Carson City. Any donations may be made in the memory of Mrs. Gardner to the Douglas County Public Library Gifts Fund, 1625 Library Lane, Minden, NV 89423.
