Abram and Jane came to Nebraska from Fairfax, Linn County, Iowa the spring of 1884. Abram and children William, Jennie and Ella came first in a covered wagon followed a few weeks later by the remainder of the family. Nathan brought their household and farm tools by train while Abram's wife Jane and the rest of the children came by covered wagon, bringing the cattle.
The family settled on E2 of the SE4 of S11, T10, R16. Abram's brother, David, lived on the farm just across the road to the east.
The children attended Mount Pleasant #59 school just a mile and a half from their home. Abram contributed to the Fairmont Cemetery fund which was established in early days of the county.

Abram Anderson died Friday at the home of his daughter, Jennie Wells, in Kearney from paralysis caused by a stroke. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock from the residence of his son, David Anderson, twelve miles north of Kearney. Burial will take place at a (Fairmont) cemetery twelve miles north of Kearney.
