Chatham, Aug. 27, 1883 - Mr. John G. Bean, died at the residence of his son, north of this village last Wednesday evening. The deceased was born in Virginia, afterwards moved to Ohio, and subsequently came to this county, with the family of his son. At the time of his death he was in the 93d year of his age. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church, the ceremonies being performed by the Rev. Mr. Simmons, last Thursday. The body was buried in our cemetery. The deceased was father-in-law to the late S. N. Pilcher, and grandfather to Constable A. B. Pilcher, and the Misses Pilcher, dressmakers.
