Marie (Spurek) Schiller Conner, 96, of Temple died Nov. 14 in a local nursing home. Services were held Nov. 18 in the Sheffield Funeral Home chapel in Temple with the Rev. Tom Henderson of Heights Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.

Conner was born Dec. 8, 1909 in Lichnov, Moravia, Czechoslovakia to Frank and Rosalia (Mueller) Spurek.

She attended school in East Bernard and became a U.S. Citizen in 1954.

She married William V. Schiller Aug. 1, 1928 in the Hope Lutheran Church in Buckholts.

He preceded her in death in 1941.

She married Ben F. Conner April 7, 1944 in the Rogers Methodist Church. He passed away in 1973.

She was a member of the Buckholts Brethren Church and joined the Heidenheimer Baptist Church and was baptized there. She remained a member there until it closed.

Conner is survived by sons, William V. Schiller, Jr. of Heidenheimer; Gene Schiller of Temple and Franklin L. Conner of Heidenheimer; daughter, Rose M. Ferguson of Temple; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
