Bertha J. Perkins, 59, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born Aug. 25, 1948, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Lonzo C. and Cora Troxell Adams. She married Eddie Joe Perkins on Nov. 9, 2003, and he preceded her in death April 10, 2006.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her son, Billy (wife, Tiffany) Adams of Jacksonville; two daughters, Amy Bauser of Jacksonville and Missy (husband, Jay) McIntire of Griggsville; four sisters, Lottie Elliott and Sarah Clore, both of Jacksonville, Alice Chaney of Colorado and Mae of Missouri; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Luther Lee Adams; and a grandson, Kirklin Andrew Adams.

Bertha was a dietary aide at Barton W. Stone Home, retiring after 10 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, celebrating holidays, baking, cooking, flowers and her beloved doves.

Services were entrusted to Williamson Funeral Home of Jacksonville, Illinois.
