Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Iona Bliss Snarr, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. She resided at 9849 South Morning Star Way (20 West) in Sandy, Utah at the time of her death.

Iona was born February 27, 1922 in Hinckley, Utah to Alfred Fisk and Mattie Cropper Bliss. Iona married her sweetheart, Grant Thompson Snarr on October 25, 1940 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Iona's life was one of service to her family, friends and the LDS church. She worked as a secretary at Hillcrest High School for over 20 years. Iona loved to travel and spend her winters in Arizona. She loved to garden and did beautiful handicrafts. Iona spent many hours quilting, knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans and quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Iona delighted in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there to support them and cheer them on. She was very giving and always an inspiration to her family.

She is survived by her three children: Jimmy Thompson (Nora) Snarr of Orangevale, California; Grant Dean (Cherie) Snarr of Midvale, Utah; and Joanne Snarr of Sandy, Utah; sisters, Betty (Joe) Switzer, Barbara (Dan) Latsis, brother Jay Bliss, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant; her parents; seven brothers and two sisters.
