An Old Resident To Great Beyond

C.D. Fanton Dies At His Home From Effects of Old Accident and Infirmities of Old Age

An accident suffered through a fall a year ago and a second fall of three months ago, coupled with the infirmities of old age caused the death of Clark Denika Fanton, at the advanced age of 83 years. The aged and highly esteemed resident passed away at his home, corner of Garretson avenue and Lemon street.

Six years ago Mr. Fanton removed to Corona from New York state and became interested in citrus property in the colony and since that time he had been engaged in that line of industry. About a year ago he suffered from an accident in which several ribs were broken. Then again three months ago the old injuries were renewed through another fall. He had been in feeble health for some time and his death was not unexpected.

The late Mr. Fanton is survived by his daughter, Martha, his wife having died a year ago, and by four grandchildren who reside in Riverside.

The funeral under the direction of Undertaker J.H. Flinn, will be held Wednesday afternoon from the family residence, Rev. S.S. Sampson, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate. Interment will take place in Sunnyslope cemetery. (Corona Independent, Corona, CA, November 22, 1915)
