US Congressman. He graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in 1824, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1826, and commenced practice in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He served one term in Congress as a Democrat from Pennsylvania, from 1851 to 1853. He then continued the practice of law in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, until his death.
