Cooleemee - Mr. Ernest Duane Moss, age 71, of Davie Street, Cooleemee, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Brian Center in Mooresville. Mr. Moss was born July 14, 1936 in Minnehaha, South Dakota to Gertrude Moss. Mr. Moss was retired from the US Army, where he served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Robinson Moss.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty Jean Caudill and husband Larry of Cooleemee; one brother, Kenneth Bear and wife Nancy of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Larry Caudill Jr. and wife Heather of Locust, Duane Caudill and wife Heather, Kenneth Caudill, Della Caudill all of Cooleemee; and two great grandchildren, Nicki Caudill, Dalea Herron-Leslie both of Cooleemee.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 o'clock Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Old Fashion Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Hall and the Rev. Stephen Caudill officiating. Burial with military rites by the VFW Post 1142 will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Old Fashion Baptist Church from 12:00 until 1:00 o'clock on Saturday, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Larry Caudill Jr., Duane Caudill, Kenneth Caudill, Daniel Caudill, Jonathan Bryson, Adam Marion.
