Graduated Bucknell U 1897, A.B.; masters followed 2y later from same school; 1897 ordained to the Christian church at Hope NJ, in the same church 54y before that his grandparents had been married; pastor of First Christian Church, Dayton OH 1897-99 when elected President of Palmer College which was then at Legrand IA; served various churches in MA, NH; 1906 received the honorary degree of D.D. from Palmer College; during WWI, he served as Chaplain of the 1336th and 318th Field Artillery, A.E.F., Captain; he parted with the Christian Church and in 1923 entered the ministry of the Unitarian Church and had pastorates in OH, IA, MA, NH, FL, NJ; edited Modern Words of Religion, 1915; see ‘Net for other works.
