WILLIAM PILLOW McCLURE, b. 1866, Marshall County, TN; University of Tennessee 1883-1884; Chi Delta; Three times mayor of Lewisburg; Lawyer; lived in Lewisburg, Tenn. He was the son of William Dickson McClure and Mary Orlena Pillow, of Cornersville, TN. He married Mrs. Alice Cartwright-Hardison; they had no children.

October 16, 1933, Monday, The Tennessean: W.P. McCLURE DIES: Lewisburg Lawyer, Prominent in Politics: Lewisburg, Tenn., Oct (10?). W.P. McClure, 67, died here today following an illness of only a few days. He was a member of the Lewisburg bar, a lawyer well known and highly esteemed throughout Tennessee. He was active in public affairs, having served the county several times a few years ago in the state legislature, and at the time of his death was a member of the present county court. He made a creditable race for railroad and public utilities commissioner for Middle Tennessee when Judge Hill was first elected. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice (Cartwright) McClure, and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Martin and Miss Anna McClure of Birmingham. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church of which was a member at 3 o'clock Monday.
