The remains were brought to this city this afternoon and taken to the Longhurst parlors, where they will lie until tomorrow afternoon. The funeral will take place at St Mark's Episcopal church at half past two in the afternoon. There will be a Masonic service, the deceased having been a member of Cheyenne Lodge No. 1 and was also a Knight Templar.
Mr. Haygood was born in Georgia and came West when a young man. For a number of years he freighted across the plains from Atchison, Kansas, to Denver, and in 1866 came to Wyoming. During the building of the Union Pacific road he burned a great deal of the time used in the construction of the road and later settled to ranching. His ranch at Virginia Dale is one of the finest in the vicinity of Cheyenne.
Mr. Haygood is survived by his wife, who is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Bishop of this city, and eight children. They are Mrs. Ada Bryan and Mrs. McNulty of this city, Miss Nora Haygood, who is in the employ of Richards, Cunningham & Co., of Casper; Miss Flossie, at home; Wesley, who lives at Casper, and Arthur Theodore and Henry Ruby, at home. He is also survived by one brother, who lives in Montgomery, Alabama.
Mr. Haygood had four grandchildren, the children of Mrs. Bryan and Wesley Haygood.
Mr. Haygood was a Democrat in politics and took a great interest in the movements of his party. He made frequent visits to this city, where he had a large number of friends, who will be grieved to learn of his death. Several of his children who are out of the city, have been summoned and will arrive in Cheyenne this evening.
Interment will be in Lakeview cemetery.
