----------
Clessen G. Wolcott, the veteran Union Pacific conductor, passed away last evening at 9:30 o’clock at his home from heart trouble after a long illness and surrounded by his family.
Mr. Wolcott had been in poor health for several months past and recently made a trip to California in the hope of improving his condition, but returned no better and since then has been confined to his home. His condition was not considered serious, however, and the end came suddenly last evening.
Mr. Wolcott has resided in Cheyenne nearly a quarter of a century and during this period has been in the employ of the Union Pacific continuously as a passenger conductor. He was an efficient and trusted employee and by his genial ways and kindly courtesy made countless friends who will learn with deep regret of his death. He was born in New York state in 1851 and was member of the Masons and the Order of Railroad Conductors.
The deceased is survived by a widow and five children. Two sons, William Wolcott and Classen G. Wolcott, Jr., reside here as do also two daughters, Mrs. Patrick Post and Mrs. Roy Henderson. The third daughter, Mrs. Harry Sumption resides at Portland, but has been in Cheyenne for the past few weeks. A brother, Dolph Wolcott, lives in the city and a sister, Mrs. Charles Ramer, resides at Laramie. An aged father, A. R. Wolcott, resides at Hamilton, Mo.
